Truly in the Remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. Being a teen is tough! Help your child build a stronger relationship with Allah through this foundational series of Essential Supplications for Teens. Your teen will learn the etiquettes of du’aa, the value and importance of du’aa, and fundamental supplications that every teen should know. Students will learn a series authentic, teen-tailored du’aas that they can use everyday, in times of ease and in times of difficulty, as well as some simple etiquettes of du’aa that they can observe to improve the quality and acceptance of their supplications. This is a 3-course series, with three classes per course. Each course builds upon the next, but the courses can be taken independently, if you do not wish to register your teen for all three courses. This is an ideal companion course to our “Getting to Know Allah” series, as remembering Allah on a regular basis is one of the best ways to strengthen your relationship and develop a sense of closeness to Him!

Each course includes printable activity sheets, online resources and quizzes, as well as weekly “Exploration Activities” that encourage students to explore their environment and apply this new knowledge outside of the online classroom. Exploration activities may include written assignments, photo-journalism, video posts, and various other activities that give students a chance to show their creativity and engage in the material in a more personal, unique way. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a printable certificate of completion.

 

COURSE ONE:
SIMPLE SUPPLICATIONS

JUNE 30, 2018 – JULY 15, 2018 (3 CLASSES)  –  $59 (+ sibling discounts)!

In Course One, “Simple Supplications,” students will begin with what du’aa actually is, why remembering Allah is so important, as well as the benefits of remembering Allah often. Students will also learn some simple etiquettes that they can observe when making du’aa that will make their du’aas more effective and more likely to be accepted, as well as the difference between personal du’aa and prophetic du’aa. We will also discuss the importance of beginning with “Bismillah,” the reward of saying it and when it’s appropriate versus when it’s not. In classes two and three, students will learn specific du’aas from the authentic Sunnah that they can say throughout the day, when to say them, and why they are so important.

CLASS ONE: “DU’AA BASICS” Class one gives students a better understanding of how du’aa works and helps them understand the importance and effect of saying Bismillah.

CLASS TWO: “DAY STARTERS”Class two teaches students the essentials daily duaas for waking up, going to sleep, entering the bathroom and exiting the bathroom, as well as some basic etiquettes of each.

COURSE TWO:
INTERACTIONS & APPRECIATIONS

JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 5, 2018 (3 CLASSES)  –  $59 (+ sibling discounts)!

In Course Two, “Interactions & Appreciations” students will learn several authentic du’aas that function as interactions between themselves and other Muslims. This collection of du’aas and etiquettes was designed to help students develop good Islamic character & Adab. While some of these etiquettes students may already practice (such as giving the Salaam), they will learn why we do it and the effect of saying those du’aas on a regular basis. We will also learn about Allah’s Names, As-Salaam – The Giver of Peace and Al-Wadood – The Most Loving.

CLASS ONE: “INTERACTIONS” Class one teaches students the importance of giving and responding to the Salaam, the effect of giving the Salaam, and etiquettes of meeting, as well as expressions of gratitude amongst Muslims, and the etiquette of sneezing.

SUPPLICATION
MASTER CLASS

AUGUST 11, 2018 – AUGUST 26, 2018 (3 CLASSES)  –  $59 (+ sibling discounts)!

In Course Three, students will learn a series of du’aas to combat fitnah, build character, and build faith… all issues hat are crucial in a teenager’s life today. In Course One, “Fitnah Fighters” students will learn how to develop the right attitude in times of hardship and several du’aa to be said to help overcome hardship, inspire patience, seek protection and bring ease. In Course Two, “Character Builders,” students will learn a series of du’aas designed to develop good character through overcoming jealousy, controlling anger, and seeking forgiveness. In Course Three, “Faith Builders,” we will focus on a series of du’aa to combat doubts in faith and to ask Allah for steadfastness and beneficial knowledge. The Supplication Master Class features a teen-tailored collection of supplications chosen specifically to aid teens in the most difficult areas on their lives, insha’Allah.

CLASS ONE: “FITNAH FIGHTERS”Class one teaches students important etiquettes and du’aas in dealing with times of struggle and tribulation. These du’aa are chosen to encourage young people to be patient and call upon Allah in times of strife. We will cover the du’aa when struck with a calamity, the du’aa of Yunus, and a du’aa for protection.

CLASS TWO: “CHARACTER BUILDERS”Class three focuses on dealing with jealousy, anger and seeking forgiveness. Students will discuss the concept of hasad (jealousy) and it’s different types and dangers, and the du’aa for feeling jealousy and avoiding the evil eye. Students will also learn how the Prophet (s) taught us to deal with anger and the importance of controlling our tongue in times of frustration. We will discuss how to seek refuge and the most appropriate times to do so. Students will also explore the importance of taking responsibility for our actions and how to apologize and seek forgiveness from others first, then from Allah. Students will learn how the Prophet (s) dealt with making mistakes and the importance of being humble and seeking forgiveness. Finally, we will discuss Allah’s Name, Al-Ghafaar – The Ever-Forgiving.

As the final class in this course, the goal is to teach students how to safeguard their own faith, especially when living in these modern times.
